Bonnie Stash is a female pop, rock influenced rapper, singer-songwriter and dancer hailing from the Bronx, NY. The product of African-American and Puerto Rican parents, this 22 year old self described “rider and survivor” is passionate about bringing forth a raw, fun, unruly and whimsical style of music which reflects her unique upbringing, personality and lifestyle. Far from a gimmick and true to her moniker, Bonnie Stash is an original artist and she represents the young lady who is rebellious, confident and sexy, complex and uncompromising, yet humble and always true to herself in any setting. She describes herself as a “superb puzzle” and her overall message is simple “BE YOURSELF - Why would u want to be somebody else?”
Bonnie Stash is a product of today’s multi-cultural landscape and she believes in stretching the boundaries of artistic expression. Growing up as a child in a diverse household, she was constantly exposed to different genres of music such as pop, hip-hop, rock, r&b and even participated in the church choir. As a result of these earlier influences, she attended the High School for Violin and Dance in the Bronx, NY where she was offered an opportunity to perform and shine in the classroom, on stage, and in life. It was in this structure that she not only learned how to play the violin and dance, but the importance of originality, discipline, versatility and creativity in pursuing her career as a professional artist.
Bonnie Stash is influenced by a wide variety of artists, musicians and performers such as Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Gwen Stefani, Aretha Franklin, Beyoncé Knowles, Kelis, Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah and Missy Elliot. Her rapping and singing style is dynamic, sexy, risky, liberal and most importantly creative. Her sound is an organic fusion of different genres and her content is refreshingly cool, crazy at times and always full of excitement. Bonnie Stash draws from both her personal experiences and travels from around the world to create music without compromising her integrity and authenticity.
Bonnie Stash is steadily blossoming into a well rounded artist and with her talent and creativity, commitment to hard work and her faith in God, there is no doubt she will make her mark for many years to come. She is currently prepping the release of her first mix-tape, Poor Lil’ Cool Bitch which consists of original songs as well as freestyles that display her total arsenal.
